Encouraging Accurate and Prompt Crime Reporting

社区成员, 学生, 教师, 工作人员, 和客人, 受害者和证人, are encouraged to report all crimes and public safety related incidents to appropriate authorities in a timely manner. Crimes should be reported to ensure inclusion in the annual crime statistics and to aid in providing timely warning notices to the community, 在必要的时候.

Any suspicious activity or person seen in the parking lots, 或者在车辆周围闲逛, or inside buildings should be reported to the Office of 校园警察.

To report a crime or emergency on campus or at the Wayne Executive Jetport:

• Emergency Call Box telephones located in the Parking Lots and at the tennis courts. They are located on light poles, and each has a blue light indicator. 如果你需要校园警察, push the red button on the emergency call box, and it will automatically notify the Office of Campus Police about where you are and let you communicate directly with the 校园警察 Officer who is responding to your call.

If assistance is required from the local law enforcement agencies or fire department, 校园警察 will contact the appropriate unit.

To report a crime at all other off-campus events, activities, or classes, call 9-1-1. Dispatchers are available at these respective telephone numbers 24 hours a day to answer your call. 接到电话后, 校园警察 and/or SJAFB Security Forces will take the required action, dispatching an officer or asking the victim to report to the Office of 校园警察 or the SJAFB Security Forces to file an incident report.

Police reports are public records under State law, 因此, the Office of Campus Police cannot hold reports of crime in confidence. Confidential reports for purposes of inclusion in the annual disclosure of crime statistics can generally be made to 校园安全部门 or to the Counseling Services Department as identified above. Confidential reports of crime may also be made to Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.

The WCC Office of 校园警察 encourages anyone who is the victim of or witness to any crime to promptly report the incident to the police. Because police reports are public records under State law, the Office of 校园警察 cannot hold reports of crime in confidence. Confidential reports for purposes of inclusion in the annual disclosure of crime statistics can generally be made to other 校园安全部门 as identified above. Confidential reports of crime may also be made to Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.

Professional counselors are defined as: “An employee of an institution whose official responsibilities include providing psychological counseling to members of the institution’s community and who  is functioning within the scope of his or her license or certification.”
